I ended up not being able to sleep that night, of course. I finally went and woke everyone up at six and went in to open our presents. Shelbe was so excited to get a horse...she'd been asking for one for months! Brody got a big dump truck he could ride on....but I think he likes the horse better. All in all it was a great Christmas. Hope all was good with yours!

Me trying to get a quick picture of Brody and Santa

Keith, I think he may be getting a little too big for this!

Well, it was time for our annual Christmas party at Grandma Jeanne's house again this year. We always have lots of good food, Santa, toys, candy, and whatever else you can think of that comes with Christmas. My Grandma always puts such work into getting ready for this. She does giant Christmas socks for all of the grandkids and great-grandkids, and fills them to the brim with goodies! It's great fun. First came Santa, though. When he first walked in, Brody started screaming and ran as fast as his little legs would carry him. In fact, when I took him up to sit on his lap he about pulled Santa's beard off! Maybe next year will be better.

Shelbe's First...!

Shelbe's dance class

Doesn't she look sooo happy?
Yeah!
Her attempt at "Smile!"

All of them waiting to go on
Shelbe's very first dance recital was last Thursday. It was their Christmas Recital. I was so excited for her, obviously more than she was. We were pretty worried that she wouldn't go on...stage fright and all...but she did, just like a pro! We were all so proud of her!

Have you ever just loved something (or someone) so much it hurts?! I don't think I could have ever imagined what it would feel like to be a mom, but when I look at my kiddies I just melt. What a blessing they have been! Love you two!!!!! XOXOXO

Sugar Cookies

Tonight for FHE we decided to decorate sugar cookies to take to the neighbors. It was great fun. Shelbe really got into her decorating. I think Brody just liked the icing! Don't worry, we are keeping their cookies just for our house. Merry Christmas everyone!

Snow!!

Sunday we woke up to a beautiful scene outside our windows....SNOW! It was great. Jayk decided to hurry and go push the snow before it melted and then froze
into a solid sheet of ice. Brody wanted to go and try it out for the first time....helpind Dad push the snow of the four-wheeler, that is. He loved it! As you can see, he had to go bundled up in his pj's. Hopefully Santa will bring him a snow suit!

Christmas Party Time!

Last night we enjoyed a fun evening with Jayk's family at their ward Christmas party. Santa was first, and, as you can tell, Shelbe and Brody weren't too excited to see hime. Shelbe did get out that she wants a butterfly horse (whatever that may be) and Brody just clung to me like his life depended on it! Ah, isn't visiting Santa just a ball. I think he was still tramatized by the whole situation afterwards when we tried to take a group picture. Jayk's neck to the brunt of it all.

We went to the Zoo while we were on vacation. The kids enjoyed seeing the animals and running around. The lions were being lazy that day. We had a great time seeing everything and just enjoying the nice afternoon.
